Separate the recording types
The game uses environmental storytelling through recordings and written material. Audio tapes, VHS story videos and notes should be identified as different kinds of clues. Combining them into one collectible count would hide distinctions the location question depends on.
The narrative material also explains why optional exploration matters to the story. A recording can add context without being a universal label for every object you discover. Identify the actual type before following a route described simply as a tape guide.
The security-office VHS reference
The v0.9.76 patch notes address crashes after watching the VHS tape in the security office. This provides a specific connection between a video and a playback setting. It is a useful version-specific reference when comparing an older recording with updated behavior.
A playback setting is not necessarily the place an item is picked up. The patch wording does not establish where the tape was obtained or how to reach it. This page therefore does not label the security office as a verified collectible pickup based on that reference alone.
Two audio tape names from the writer
In the Narrative & Story devlog, the writer identifies Campfire and Birds vs. Dinosaurs as favorite audio tapes. Those names are direct story-material references. They establish named recordings without establishing where they are found.
The two examples are not presented as the full audio tape list. The devlog’s discussion of favorites is a selection, not a completion checklist. Treat the names as useful identifiers rather than as a numbered collection total.
A location needs more than a room suggestion
The collected notes do not supply a cross-verified route linking each tape to its normal-play pickup. They also do not establish collectible-related achievements or save persistence. A broad suggestion to search an office, theater or cavern would be less precise than the question requires.
For that reason, no approximate counts or guessed room assignments are published here. A useful location entry would distinguish finding an item from playing it afterward. The official security-office reference remains labelled as playback evidence throughout this page.
Use recordings to follow the story
The confirmed recording system is part of understanding Dalton’s Dinos. Optional audio material can expand the context around the main path. The story guide introduces that setting without turning recording titles into unsupported plot revelations.
This article gives the verified clue categories, the named audio examples and the documented VHS reference. It does not claim an all-locations route. Keeping those boundaries clear lets you use the information that is actually established without relying on a false completion map.
