Dennis in Terrible Lizards — Who Is He Really?

Dennis is one of the Paleo Pals, the costumed dinosaur mascots of Dalton’s Dinos. The official account introduced him as a rascal whose motto is that any obstacle can be climbed. His real role in the story is a late-game reveal, kept in the clearly marked spoiler section below.

Dennis the Paleo Pal

The official Terrible Lizards account presented Dennis before launch as a rapscallion kids should keep an eye on. The post jokes that his hijinks cannot always be condoned, but that the best way forward is to think like him: any obstacle in your path can be climbed.

That line is a wink at the game itself. Terrible Lizards is a parkour horror game, and climbing is how you survive. Dennis is the mascot who most openly embodies that idea.

Where he fits among the mascots

The official Steam description names the Paleo Pals as the attraction’s mascots. Fan documentation lists the group as Benji the Brontosaurus, Dennis the Dilophosaurus, Alistair the Allosaurus, Stephanie the Stegosaurus and Pterry the Pterodactyl. Benji is the face of the park, while Dennis is the troublemaker.

Fan sources do not all agree on Dennis’s species, but the most detailed character list ties him to the Dilophosaurus. That link matters once you reach the spoiler section.

Spoiler: Dennis and Dalton Jr.

Stop here if you have not finished the game. According to the fan-maintained TV Tropes plot notes, Dalton’s son had been talking to an imaginary friend called Dennis, and that friend is actually the Dilophosaurus.

That makes the cheerful mascot and the first monster you meet two sides of the same thread. The Hybrid page explains the creature itself, and the ending page covers how the story resolves.

Who voices Dennis?

No official credit for Dennis’s voice was published in the material checked for this page. One fan-run wiki attributes the role to CG5, but that has not been confirmed by the developers.
